About the position

Universal Avionics is seeking a Technical Writer to produce and edit technical documentation for various company publications. This role involves collaborating with engineers and technical personnel to ensure the accuracy and clarity of technical content, while also managing documentation processes and schedules. The Technical Writer will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the advancement of avionics technology.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit technical copy for various company publications, including product documentation.
• Convert technical language into easily understood terms when appropriate.
• Implement applicable configuration management requirements for documentation.
• Coordinate scheduling with program managers.
• Work with engineers and technical personnel to collect and clarify content of technical documents.
• Manage the review and approval process for all product documentation to ensure timely completion.
• Suggest improvements to business processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a writing-related or science/engineering field.
• Two or more years of experience with documentation, publications, or content management in a high-tech environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word.
• Experience with version control and configuration management tools.
• Strong editing and writing skills in English.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using SharePoint and Polarion.
• Strong aptitude for acquiring competency in new tools.
