About the position

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our client's team in Green Bay, WI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, creating, and maintaining technical product manuals, parts catalogs, specifications, and bulletins that are appropriate for the intended audience. This role requires a strong ability to communicate complex product information in a simple, professional, and engaging manner to enhance comprehension among users. The Technical Writer will work closely with various departments including Sales, Service, Engineering, and Shop to gather necessary materials and insights for documentation. The position is full-time, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM. In this role, you will develop and maintain technical documents related to the setup, operation, and maintenance of print equipment manufactured by the company. You will be responsible for producing both electronic documents and hard copy manuals, ensuring that all materials are accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, you will take and download quality digital photography to complement the technical writing, enhancing the visual appeal and clarity of the manuals. Revisions and updates to current manuals will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all documentation reflects the latest product information and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Research, create, and maintain technical product manuals, parts catalogs, specifications, and bulletins.
  • Develop and maintain technical documents related to the setup, operation, and maintenance of print equipment.
  • Acquire necessary materials from in-house and outside resources.
  • Interact with personnel in Sales, Service, Engineering, and Shop to gather information.
  • Take and download quality digital photography to complement technical writing.
  • Produce electronic documents along with hard copy manuals.
  • Responsible for revisions and updates to current manuals as needed.
  • Communicate complex product information into simple, professional, and engaging content.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of technical writing experience required, preferably within or related to the printing industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.
  • Prior CAD experience is a plus.
  • Previous electrical or mechanical design experience is a definite plus.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Education: Communication, Writing, Design, or Engineering Degree.

  • Experience in the printing industry.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
