The Technical Writer at Watts plays a crucial role in creating and maintaining a variety of technical documentation that is essential for the effective use of our commercial handwashing and industrial safety products. This position requires a keen understanding of the technical information that is critical to the end user, ensuring that all documentation is user-friendly, accurate, complete, clear, and concise. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with a team of Product Managers and Engineers to gather necessary information and insights that will inform the documentation process. In this role, the Technical Writer will generate high-quality technical documents for both electronic and print publication, adhering to established graphic standards and style guides. This includes determining the appropriate photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts needed to effectively illustrate the material. The Technical Writer will also be responsible for maintaining an organized archive of all documents and revisions, ensuring that all materials are up-to-date and accessible. To ensure the effectiveness of the documentation, the Technical Writer will observe processes and conduct interviews with end users, gathering feedback to refine and improve the documentation. Additionally, the role involves updating or modifying product illustrations and engineering drawings as necessary, managing foreign language translations, and conducting research to produce accurate and comprehensive documents. The Technical Writer may also provide backup support for the Marketing Department as needed and undertake other related duties and projects as required.
