About the position
The Technical Writer position at Robert Half involves creating and publishing technical documentation for technology platforms within a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong communication and presentation skills, along with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
Responsibilities
- Create and publish detailed API documentation and developer's guides for the technology platform
- Develop and deliver documentation for the Foundational Web Services platform
- Develop strategies for content re-use and single-sourcing
- Create sample applications to demonstrate individual components of the system
- Evaluate and select tools and technologies for the technical publications team
- Write documentation for APIs, SDKs, components, and tools
- Communicate and present complex information clearly and precisely
- Maintain updated knowledge of software engineering and programming languages such as Java, C#, or C
- Write and document code in Perl, C, PHP, and Java
- Work closely with developers, understanding and translating their needs into technical documentation
Requirements
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Mastery in technical documentation and design
- Proficient in making effective presentations
- Capable of handling and managing websites
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, PHP, Perl, and R Code
- Understanding of XML Technologies and API Development
- Experience in software engineering
- Knowledge of component selection in the technology platform
- Familiarity with source strategy and SDK
- Knowledge of design concepts in the technology field
- Experience in technical publications
- Knowledge of A Plus programming language would be beneficial
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
