About the position

Pueo is seeking a TS/SCI cleared Technical Writer to join their team in Washington, DC. The role involves creating and revising Risk Management Framework (RMF) technical documents, making complex information accessible to clients. The Technical Writer will facilitate communication between technical teams and clients by simplifying terminologies and producing clear, concise documentation.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit RMF procedure documentation.
• Create and revise technical documents including reference manuals.
• Develop procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals.
• Meet with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes.
• Research RMF practices to fully understand processes.
• Assess audience needs for technical and procedural documentation.
• Adjust tone and technical terms to meet audience needs and ensure understanding.
• Plan writing processes and tasks, setting timelines and deadlines.
• Create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
• Gather feedback from customers and technical teams to improve technical documents.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, or literature.
• Five years of experience or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience in IT technical writing and editing.
• Three years of related experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent writing and grammatical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
