About the position

The Technical Writer is responsible for authoring, reviewing, and editing technical documentation, user manuals, and program acquisition documents. This role requires applying specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge to develop or contribute to solutions for a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. The Technical Writer will work independently with some guidance and may review or guide the activities of more junior employees.

Responsibilities

• Author, review, and edit technical documentation and user manuals.
• Develop or contribute to solutions for moderate scope and complexity problems.
• Work independently with some guidance.
• Review or guide activities of junior employees.

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Word and Adobe products for creating technical documentation.
• Experience with style writing guides and best practices used within DoD or Army for formal documentation deliveries.
• Ability to work independently while developing technical communications solutions with short suspense dates.
• Secret clearance required.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience supporting DoD or Army programs.
• Experience working with technical teams including systems engineers, system administrators, and cyber security personnel.
