About the position

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join a specialized knowledge management project focused on documenting critical application knowledge from subject matter experts eligible for retirement. The role involves capturing and structuring technical information clearly and accessibly for the creation of a Searchable Logic Library.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Business Analysts and Data Analysts to extract technical and functional information from subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of applications, systems, processes, and functional layers for mainframe and non-mainframe applications, focusing on Hogan systems.
  • Organize and structure content in a repository for easy access and searchability.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure accuracy and completeness of technical documentation, adhering to defined methodologies.
  • Create technical documentation that clearly explains processes without capturing end-to-end data flows or attribute-level details.
  • Ensure all documentation meets the client's technical and formatting standards.
  • Review and update documentation throughout the project to reflect changes or corrections.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Technical Writer, preferably in IT or financial services sectors.
  • Technical understanding of mainframe applications, specifically Hogan systems.
  • Ability to explain complex technical processes and systems in clear, user-friendly language.
  • Organizational and writing skills with a track record of producing accurate and accessible technical documentation.
  • Experience with metadata creation and management.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation tools and content management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience in large-scale knowledge management initiatives is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in large enterprises, preferably in financial services or banking.
  • Prior exposure to application-level documentation focusing on product, functional, non-functional, infrastructure, and platform support layers.
