About the position

Our client in Raymond, OH is seeking a Technical Writer to join their team on a contract basis. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with product development teams to create and maintain comprehensive documentation that defines roles, responsibilities, and development processes. This role is crucial in facilitating an efficient workflow within the organization. The Technical Writer will be responsible for learning various aspects of the product development process and using this knowledge to create detailed process documents. These documents will include process descriptions, work steps, and inputs/outputs for specific activities, ensuring clarity and consistency across teams. In addition to creating documentation, the Technical Writer will listen to team members to identify tasks and responsibilities, generalizing these into an overall task list that clarifies roles among different groups and departments. They will also prepare training materials related to the process documents to assist in onboarding new employees. The Technical Writer will review the created process documents with product teams, making necessary revisions before obtaining final approval. Furthermore, they will establish a structured repository for process documentation and maintain guidelines for its use. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field, or have at least 3 years of technical writing experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with a diverse range of individuals and job functions. Proficiency in word processing and collaboration tools such as Confluence and Flare is required. Attention to detail, project management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are also important for success in this role. The Technical Writer should be creative in problem-solving and open to exploring novel approaches while fostering cooperative working relationships within teams.

Responsibilities
