We have a compelling opportunity for a Technical Writer to support the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) in Linthicum, Maryland. This position requires an active Secret security clearance. The Technical Writer will be responsible for writing, formatting, and editing contract deliverables and technical documents in support of the Peraton Program Management Office (PMO). This role serves as the primary Quality Control (QC) point of contact for reviews, ensuring that all materials, including program plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in-depth presentations, periodic status reports, and meeting minutes, meet the required standards. In addition to document preparation, the Technical Writer will assist the PMO and technical team with tracking documentation delivery to government stakeholders. This includes maintaining an accurate schedule and ensuring timely submission to client portals. The role also involves developing documentation cataloging systems and maintaining or archiving records and files. The Technical Writer must clearly communicate both in-depth technical detail and high-level program statuses and successes to a wide range of audiences, translating complex data into user-friendly text for publications. The position supports executive-level communications by sharing programmatic updates with a large audience and assists the PMO by creating a variety of written employee engagement products, including newsletters and email updates. The Technical Writer will acquire subject knowledge by interviewing DC3 stakeholders, observing performance of mission execution methods, and referring to technical specifications, engineering illustrations, and policy. They will gather information through research, statistical reports, and interviews with technical staff while maintaining consistent communication with technical team leads. Additionally, the Technical Writer will assist in organizing and preparing material for technical seminars and business forums, and may assist in technical or business presentations as required. They will select or recommend the use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, illustrations, charts, or storyboards to amplify or clarify publication objectives, overseeing the preparation of illustrative materials and conducting quality reviews of materials. The role also involves gathering, analyzing, and reporting metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and executing additional writing and editing tasks as needed by the PMO to address government requirements.
