About the position

In a highly collaborative setting, as the Technical Writer, you will create customer-facing product documentation for Philips Patient Monitoring systems. Your role involves developing clinical user and/or installation and service documentation for patient monitoring products, along with preparing documentation plans derived from engineering documentation, field requirements, and customer requirements. You will participate with cross-functional teams to represent documentation status and deliverables, while providing input to program schedules and milestones. It is essential to adhere to Philips templates and processes to ensure the quality and consistency of deliverables. Additionally, you will work with external vendors, such as translation and printing services, throughout the documentation development lifecycle. Identifying areas of improvement in our processes and products and implementing them within the team as appropriate is also a key part of your responsibilities, as well as implementing guidelines and/or requirements of appropriate standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clinical user and/or installation and service documentation for patient monitoring products.
  • Prepare documentation plans from engineering documentation, field requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Participate with cross-functional teams to represent documentation status and deliverables.
  • Provide input to program schedules and milestones.
  • Adhere to Philips templates and processes to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables.
  • Work with external vendors (e.g. Translation, Printer) through the documentation development lifecycle.
  • Identify areas of improvement in processes and products and implement them within the team as appropriate.
  • Implement guidelines and/or requirements of appropriate standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a documentation environment, with a focus on technical writing.
  • Experience within a regulated industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and usage of tools such as AuthorIt, FrameMaker, Schema ST4, and/or Adobe InDesign.
  • Bachelor's degree in technical writing or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be highly collaborative.
