About the position

The Technical Writer/Reporting Specialist at Intersec is a pivotal role that focuses on the preparation of detailed reports, executive summaries, and presentations based on findings from penetration testing activities. This position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the findings and recommendations derived from technical assessments. This role is essential for facilitating effective communication between technical teams and key stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned on security vulnerabilities and remediation strategies. In this position, the Technical Writer will prepare comprehensive reports that include detailed methodologies, findings, and actionable recommendations. The role also involves creating executive summaries and presentations tailored for various stakeholders, ensuring that the information is accessible and understandable. Additionally, the Technical Writer will assist in categorizing and prioritizing identified vulnerabilities based on their severity and potential impact, which is crucial for effective risk management. Conducting debriefing sessions to discuss findings and recommendations with relevant stakeholders is also a key responsibility, fostering collaboration and informed decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed reports, including methodology, findings, and recommendations.
  • Create executive summaries and presentations for key stakeholders.

  • Assist in categorizing and prioritizing identified vulnerabilities based on their severity and potential impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Certified Technical Writer (CTW) or similar certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical writing within the cybersecurity field.
  • Ability to translate complex technical findings into understandable language.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and best practices.
