About the position

BitGo is seeking a talented technical writer to join our team, focusing on creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for our product offerings. As a leader in digital-asset financial services, we provide institutional investors with liquidity, qualified custody, and security solutions. This role is crucial in shaping the information architecture of our Developer Portal, writing integration guides, and maintaining API references. You will be responsible for full-stack technical writing, which includes crafting developer documentation and UI text for our web application used by clients. Your work will ensure that our documentation meets the diverse needs of BitGo clients, providing clarity and usability across various use cases. In this position, you will also provide guidance to BitGo engineers, helping them contribute to our documentation effectively while building their confidence as writers. You will consolidate documentation from multiple sources into a cohesive and discoverable user experience, offering critical input during product development. Additionally, you will channel user feedback to improve internal workflows and documentation, ensuring that our resources are always up-to-date and user-friendly. This role is hybrid/remote, with expectations to work onsite at our Palo Alto, New York, or Toronto office three times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain documentation for BitGo product offerings.
  • Shape the information architecture of our Developer Portal.
  • Write integration guides and maintain API references.
  • Write developer documentation and UI text for the web application.
  • Ensure documentation meets the needs of diverse BitGo client use-cases.
  • Provide guidance and develop self-serve resources for BitGo engineers.
  • Consolidate documentation from multiple sources into a cohesive user experience.
  • Offer critical input during product development.
  • Channel user feedback to improve internal workflows and documentation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical writing experience creating developer documentation.
  • Impeccable writing that exemplifies minimalism and clarity.
  • Able to write according to a style guide.
  • Proficient with command line interpreters (bash, zsh, etc.).
  • Proficient with GitHub and Git distributed version control.
  • Proficient in Markdown.
  • Understands REST APIs.
  • Able to plan projects and juggle multiple features.
  • Able to work with diverse stakeholders including engineers, designers, project managers, sales, and more.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understands and has a strong interest in cryptocurrency, blockchains, and encryption.
  • Proven record of learning complex, technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript.
