About the position

Guidehouse is currently seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join one of our Department of State programs. The Candidate will support all project documentation to include document creation, editing, and management of deliverables. Must be able to confidently interact with different stakeholders and be able to develop, review, write, and edit material for quick-turn executive and technical reports, manuals, briefs, and related technical and administrative publications for internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has prior federal experience. This role will involve reviewing technical reports created by others and editing them for technical accuracy and completeness. This will require an understanding of the individual product systems to identify factual or content inconsistencies. The Technical Writer will work with others to develop, write, review, and edit briefings and documents to be delivered to different stakeholders. Additionally, the role includes performing other technical writing duties as assigned and delivering high-quality client service and products in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment. Developing trusted relationships with clients and team members is also a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support all project documentation including document creation, editing, and management of deliverables.
  • Review technical reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop, write, review, and edit briefings and documents for stakeholders.
  • Perform other technical writing duties as assigned.
  • Deliver high-quality client service and products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop trusted relationships with clients and team members.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree -OR- Four (4) years of relevant technical writing experience in lieu of degree.
  • TWO (2) or more years of relevant technical writing experience.
  • Experience with developing executive briefings.
  • Experience using document templates.
  • Experience starting technical documents with information gained during SME interviews.
  • Experience editing comments from other team members to produce final deliverables.
  • Experience tracking documentation through external review cycles.
  • Experience with Office 365.

  • Experience developing Intranets to support communications.
  • Experience setting up a document management repository.
  • Experience with document tagging.
  • Experience developing Policy documentation.
  • Experience interpreting new policies.
