About the position

As members of the Information Engineering team at NetApp, our technical writers are clear and professional communicators. We are strategic thinkers and creative problem-solvers, and we are passionate about understanding user needs, unraveling ambiguous or complex information, and then developing clear and meaningful documentation to help our readers learn about and use our products. At NetApp, you'll join a diverse team of writers and make a direct impact on our customers by working with product teams to both serve and delight our customers with optimal information. In this role, you will collaborate with other writers and stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, and support team members, to develop task-focused content for NetApp products and services. You will experiment with pre-release versions of products to understand functionality and anticipate users' information needs. Your responsibilities will also include researching, scoping, and developing plans to meet content requirements for product features and releases. You will partner with usability and engineering teams to champion user interface simplicity, clarity, and consistency, and develop and nurture relationships with subject matter experts in cross-functional areas. Additionally, you will interpret metrics, feedback, and other data to continuously improve the customer experience. You will partner with your peers in Information Engineering to improve processes, systems, and tools, and represent Information Engineering in cross-functional strategic initiatives. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, as you will audit content and make plans to address problems. Ensuring that documentation is culturally relevant to a diverse global market with a wide variety of audiences is also essential. You will independently research technology concepts, product plans, and technical specifications, and interact with individual contributors, managers, and directors across NetApp.
