Additionally, the position will have the responsibility to generate the customer maintenance and operation manuals. The individual will function in a team environment working with peers on complex projects and activities. This is a professional position in which the person is required to exercise independent judgment and to work under a minimum of supervision. The technical writing function will also include creating training presentations for the training class at a customer's site. The training class is completed by an associate site technician. The duties are: Participate in the development of new vehicles/AGV's and components to expand Savant's product portfolio. Attend development meetings to define new product functionality and specifications and discuss progress and changes, etc. Assign part numbers, create Bills of Materials (BOM), assembly part numbers in an ERP system, and design electrical assembly drawings and schematics in AutoCAD. Manufacturing support during electrical assembly builds. Attend customer project kick-off meetings to understand the scope, details needed and ask questions for clarity. Work with the Product Mechanical Engineer for AGV vehicle release based on customer requirements. Produce AutoCAD fixed equipment control drawings based on customer project requirements. Maintain the AGV vehicle type customer manual templates. Updating the templates based on AGV product design changes. Provide the job specific customer's maintenance and operation manuals using the templates as a base starting point. Provide the job specific maintenance training power point presentation for use by the site technician trainer. Provide Embedded Software Engineering I/O requirements for vehicle and fixed equipment. Review and correct Work Orders and engineering drawings from any manufacturing red line mark-ups. An ECO may be required. Documentation Control including: · Write ECO's for product releases, product improvement, obsolescence and customer enhancements. · Assist SALES with proposals / quotes for pending sales, service up-grades and customer requirements. Participates in the product / manufacturing status meetings. Complete other assignments as requested from management. Qualifications / Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The assigned individual should possess a technical background in the required technologies and the ability to learn to lead the various Savant engineers and occasionally work with customer personnel. The EE must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, team building and interpersonal skills. Experience in AGV or autonomous vehicle systems is preferred. Education / Experience: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, along with 2+ years of experience in electrical / controls engineering with technical writing skills. Experience in controls, motor control, battery technology, Wi-Fi technology and components, navigation and/or emerging technologies is a plus. Other skills / abilities: Experience and skill using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook are essential.
