About the position

The Author/Technical Writer at STAR7 will be responsible for producing automotive technical documentation using various authoring tools while adhering to customer standards. This role requires self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the authoring team and graphic designers to plan the internal/external process flow of authoring projects.
• Collect technical information needed for the authoring of automotive owner's information publications from various sources.
• Author content of the requested publications, following the indicated standards, using traditional authoring tools/platforms.
• Provide direction to the graphics team for the creation of illustrations as needed for publications, following the indicated standards.
• Publish the requested documentation to the appropriate CMS platform and/or deliver the final documents to the customer.
• Assist with archiving source data and final documentation.
• Participate in meetings with the customer and suppliers when requested.
• Perform physical on-vehicle validations to cross-check the accuracy and completeness of publications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 1-2 years' experience in technical writing, editing, journalism, or a relevant field.
• Experience with traditional authoring/editing desktop publishing applications (InDesign, FrameMaker, Tridion, etc.) is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Suite.
• Experienced with XML-based authoring CMS tools.
• Automotive background or knowledge is a plus.
• Self-motivation ability to work independently or in a team.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and reprioritize tasks as needed.
• Advanced time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with traditional authoring/editing desktop publishing applications (InDesign, FrameMaker, Tridion, etc.) is preferred.
• Automotive background or knowledge is a plus.
