About the position

Technical Writer Employment Type: Full-Time, Experienced Department: Technology Support CGS is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to provide consultative, analytical, and documentation support for a large Federal agency initiative. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for drafting and developing technical documentation related to a variety of projects in the IT space. You will work closely with project stakeholders to establish technical processes and procedures, documenting projects through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Additionally, you will provide status reports for multiple ongoing projects and related documentation efforts, assisting with both user and admin level documentation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and communication skills, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of technical documentation and at least 3 years of experience in user documentation. You should be fluent with industry-standard technical summary and reporting techniques, including Agile project management methodology, and have the ability to produce quality work independently or in a group setting. Familiarity with Business Intelligence/Analysis applications and experience with Government software development policies and procedures will be advantageous. Client-facing communication experience and a Federal Agency issued security clearance are also preferred.

  • Experience with MS Office Suite including Visio.
  • Willingness and ability to pass background check/security screening.
