About the position

We are seeking a Technical Writer to create and maintain documentation for the ePermits platform, which is based on ServiceNow and supports various permit application processes. The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing clear and concise documentation to support both internal and external users. This role is crucial in ensuring that all documentation is accurate, relevant, and accessible to users, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience (CX) in government solutions. The Technical Writer will work closely with various teams, including the FWS Technical Team, ePermits Support Team, and Customer Support Manager, to gather information and ensure that the documentation meets the needs of all stakeholders. In this position, the Technical Writer will draft and develop written materials that support the internal and external permit processes. This includes creating documents such as scripts, standardized responses, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals, and public-facing guides. The Technical Writer will also maintain a repository for existing documents, ensuring their continued relevance and accuracy. Responding to public inquiries in writing in a professional and clear manner is also a key responsibility of this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise documents that are easy for users to understand.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in technical writing.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow platform and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise documents.
