About the position

The Technical Writer will receive technical guidance and training from the publications staff, ensuring that all documentation meets the necessary standards for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company guidelines. In this position, the Technical Writer will be responsible for preparing documentation in accordance with IITRI's writing policy. This includes editing documentation to ensure it is clear and consistent, proofreading materials for errors, and utilizing various software programs necessary for report formatting and production. The Technical Writer will also coordinate with authors to prepare final documentation for production or distribution, ensuring that all materials comply with security procedures in the performance of their duties. Additionally, the role may involve performing other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the publications team.

Responsibilities

• Prepares documentation in accordance with IITRI's writing policy.
• Edits documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company guidelines.
• Proofreads documentation.
• Utilizes various programs necessary for report formatting and production, and edits print (hardcopy) and online documentation.
• Coordinates with authors in preparing final documentation for production or distribution.
• Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, journalism, English, scientific area or other related field.
• Experience in editing technical and scientific documentation.
• Proficiency in the English language with excellent ability in written communications.
• Biology or science background.
• Excellent attention to detail.
