About the position

The Technical Writer II position involves supporting laboratory testing to military standards for the Department of Defense. The role focuses on developing, organizing, editing, and writing technical and procedural documentation, ensuring that all materials meet the required standards and are accurate. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of documentation related to military testing and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Gather data packages and information from subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, organize, edit, and write technical and procedural documentation.
  • Draft and/or edit test plans and technical data reports using developed and mature templates.
  • Collaborate with E3 lab director, SMEs, and customers to verify data and make documentation changes as necessary.
  • Draft test execution procedures with input from SMEs.
  • Complete yearly training as directed for general employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; Associate degree preferred but High School Diploma or GED acceptable with additional experience.
  • One (1) year with degree or three (3) years with HS/GED of experience revising or writing standardized material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.
  • Proficiency with document drafting tools and technologies including Microsoft Office (to include Visio) and Adobe products.
  • Ability to obtain, possess and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to access secure DoD data transmission sites.
  • Must be a US citizen.
