About the position

The Technical Writer at DCCA is responsible for creating, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation related to software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. This role requires collaboration with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials, ensuring that complex technical information is presented in a clear and comprehensible manner for a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  • Write and edit technical documentation related to the CMS Expedited Lifecycle, including requirements, help, training, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials.
  • Research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience.
  • Provide expert oversight of technical writing and editing technical documentation for the Program, Project, or Contract.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience as a Technical Writer
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with authoring accurate content (SOPs, high level presentations, knowledge base articles, user communications)

  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence
