About the position

Parsons is seeking a talented Technical Writer to support the United States Marine Corps in developing advanced Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities. This role involves advising management and overseeing the creation and publication of various technical documents, including security policies and standard operating procedures. The position requires a hybrid work schedule, with some in-office work in Fredericksburg, VA, and occasional travel to support project work.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and training materials.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, and project managers to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect changes in products and processes.
• Ensure documentation meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to quality standards.
• Create user-friendly documentation that meets the needs of the intended audience.
• Conduct research to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear documentation.
• Utilize various documentation tools and software to create and manage technical content.
• Ensure all documentation complies with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Perform other writing duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance
• 3-5 years overall experience and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in technical writing, reviewing, and/or editing technical documentation
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Demonstrated formal editing experience
• Ability to communicate technical information to various audiences
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
