About the position

21Tech, LLC is seeking a Technical Writer to support our client in Glendale, AZ. This role involves developing, writing, and editing various technical documents such as user manuals, system documentation, and training manuals. The position is a hybrid ongoing long-term contract, requiring the candidate to work onsite in Glendale, AZ, and is not open to H1B Visa holders.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with subject matter experts to establish technical specifications and determine subject material for publication.
  • Interview personnel and read vendor-provided documentation to familiarize with product technologies.
  • Observe production and developmental activities to understand product technologies and production methods.
  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to standards of order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate technology and operating procedures.
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to existing documentation.
  • Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate written materials.
  • Arrange for distribution of material.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in writing or editing materials of a technical nature.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of researching, interviewing, writing, and editing technical materials.
  • Proficiency in computers and applicable software applications.
  • Understanding of operating systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to comprehend and make inferences from various materials in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, with a good command of the English language.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials clearly and concisely using proper grammar.
  • Skill in presenting information accurately in a professional manner.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical reports, and specifications.
  • Experience in proofreading materials.
  • Ability to organize materials into formats suitable for printing.
  • Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Benefits
