About the position

This position will lead the development of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation for Infotainment Software, Hardware, and Telematics testing processes. The role is focused on the creation and organization of SOP procedures, as the current processes are not documented effectively. The Technical Writer will work on creating SOP reporting and manuals for testing procedures to improve efficiencies within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for learning different aspects of the product development process. Utilizing this knowledge, they will create process documents for performed tasks, which will include detailed descriptions of processes, work steps, and inputs/outputs for given activities. A key part of the role involves listening to identify tasks, determining who is responsible for each task, and generalizing these into an overall task list to clarify roles and responsibilities among various groups and departments. Additionally, the Technical Writer will prepare training materials related to the process documents to facilitate new employee learning. They will review the created process documents and materials with product teams, revise them as needed, and then seek approval. The role also includes posting and maintaining a repository of process documentation, as well as establishing a structured documentation framework and guidelines to ensure consistency and clarity across all documentation efforts.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills in word processing and collaboration tools (Confluence, Flare, Sharepoint, etc.).

  • Basic project management skills to determine project timelines.
  • Developed organizational skills to prioritize workload and accomplish tasks within defined project timelines.
  • Ability to generate creative solutions to problems and openness to trying different approaches.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships and work in teams to reach project goals.
