About the position

The Technical Writer at Actalent will be responsible for executing the document creation and revision process for facility standards and other documents that support operational readiness, the Learning & Development team, and Quality partners. This role requires serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the local change control process to facilitate the revision of standards and document iterations. The Technical Writer will interface with other technical writers and SMEs on equipment and processes, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. In addition to writing and managing deviations, the Technical Writer will provide specialist knowledge on the writing process to enhance understanding of document types, structure, style, and language usage in operational documents. The role involves coaching document owners on effective communication and adherence to standards in operational documentation. The Technical Writer will also support the processing of revisions to appropriate facility-level documents in collaboration with other process groups, ensuring that projects are completed within established metrics and timelines. The position requires proactive engagement in systematic problem-solving activities and collaboration on solutions regarding document processes and quality compliance. The Technical Writer must follow all safety and environmental requirements while performing their duties and may be assigned additional accountabilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the document creation & revision process for facility standards and other documents.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the local change control process.
  • Interface with other technical writers and SMEs on equipment/processes.
  • Support document owners in the writing process with language usage and document revision.
  • Write & manage deviations and all documentation management.
  • Provide specialist knowledge on the writing process to ease understanding of operational documents.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical writing and document creation & revision.
  • Familiarity with the change control process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with industrial utilities equipment.
  • Experience in an expansion environment (greenfield or brownfield).
  • Strong self-motivation and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Stakeholder relationship management experience.
