About the position

The Technical Writer will be an integral part of a large project team focused on developing a multi-cloud solution for digitizing scanned paper tax forms. This role involves the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of various technical documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy in software and systems engineering documentation, user guides, and implementation guides.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
• Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.
• Create code documentation for software and produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities.
• Provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation.
• Format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other resources.
• Research technical reference materials and gather relevant technical information to develop draft and final copies of documentation based on contract requirements.
• Coordinate layout and design of documents and interpret engineering and maintenance drawings to understand and blend large quantities of computer-related information.
• Mentor and assist junior technical writers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in technical writing.
• MBI Clearance required.
• Experience in writing, editing, proofreading, and providing writing support on technical documents such as manuals, procedures, and specifications.
• Ability to design and develop technical manuals, brochures, training materials, or other documentation in support of contract deliverables.
• Strong research skills to gather technical information and collaborate with teammates or experts.
• Ability to work under limited supervision to achieve day-to-day objectives of completing draft and final documentation.
• Experience in applying concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings and technical information.
