About the position

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Technical Writer on a 10-year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. The role involves working collaboratively with a team to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment, and disposal of user-facing and data center information technology (IT) services across multiple networks and security domains, at various locations worldwide, to support the Intelligence Community (IC) mission. The ideal candidate will be expected to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally, ensuring high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. The Technical Writer will support the Development Services Team in the development, revision, and delivery of technical documentation, program-related messaging, and customer deliverables. This includes collaborating with internal staff to gain an in-depth understanding of technologies, products, or services, and the documentation requirements. The candidate will produce high-quality documentation, create and edit user-friendly tutorials, analyze existing and potential content for reuse opportunities, and maintain the information architecture. The position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to research and organize technical information, and the capability to adapt to changing business and client needs. Candidates should possess a strong background in technical writing, particularly in relation to AI/ML capabilities, and have experience writing for the Analysis of Alternatives (AoA). Familiarity with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and its mission partners is also beneficial. The role demands outstanding time management skills to work within accelerated timelines while delivering high-quality products to the customer. The Technical Writer will also be responsible for maintaining a current internal documentation library and demonstrating success in working with a diverse workforce alongside technical professionals of varying expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Development Services Team in the development, revision, and delivery of technical documentation, program-related messaging, and customer deliverables.
  • Collaborates across internal staff to obtain an in-depth understanding of technologies, products, or services, and the documentation requirements.
  • Produces high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Creates and edits easy-to-understand tutorials to help end-users operate a variety of applications.
  • Analyzes existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Supports maintenance of the information architecture.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • BA/BS degree and 2+ years of professional writing/editing experience or an equivalent combination of years of experience and education.
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in technical research, writing, and editing.
  • Ability to research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience.
  • Ability to apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative in design and thought, when appropriate to meet business needs.
  • Ability to adapt to both changing business and client needs, and a changing technical environment.
  • Outstanding time management skills to work within accelerated schedule timelines while delivering high-quality products to the customer.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, various word-processing and desktop publishing software applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with technical writing related to AI/ML capabilities.
  • Previous experience writing to an Analysis of Alternatives (AoA).
  • Demonstrated experience with NGA and mission partners.
