About the position

This position primarily supports the Federal Service Division by writing various materials to capture new federal business, including responses to RFIs, SSs, RFQs, and RFPs, as well as white papers and newsletters. The role requires strong writing skills, business acumen, and an understanding of proposal writing style, often under tight deadlines. The Technical Writer will also assist with proposal coordination, maintain databases, and perform secondary writing and editing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Research project background and obtain relevant information on requirements.
• Work with existing boilerplate and rough draft material from subject matter experts to create high-impact content for proposals.
• Develop and write proposals in response to formally written solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, SS, etc.).
• Edit and proofread documents for grammar, style, and content.
• Attend RFP meetings to discuss key requirements and strategic approach.
• Liaise effectively as a leading member of the proposal team.
• Assist or direct consultants or other subject matter experts (SME).
• Develop, edit, and maintain documents, presentations, communications, and other projects as assigned.
• Monitor and support all production phases of the project to ensure quality control and compliance with submission guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
• Graduate Degree or substantial technical, proposal, editorial, and/or grant writing experience.
• Basic to advanced understanding of Shipley BD/Proposal processes.
• Proven track record in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in project management.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite, Sam.gov, and GovWin.
