About the position
The Technical Writer at Iron Bow Technologies will collaborate with program leads in the Communications and Infrastructure Division to create and maintain documentation for various projects and processes. This role involves simplifying complex technical information into clear documentation and updating content on the CID intranet site, contributing to the overall mission success across government, healthcare, and commercial industries.
Responsibilities
- Prepares instruction manuals, journal articles, and other supporting documents to simplify communication of complex and technical information.
- Designs engaging training materials for various delivery methods, including instructor-led, computer-based, and web-based training.
- Develops, gathers, and disseminates technical information among customers, designers, and manufacturers.
- Works with internal teams to gain understanding of product and documentation requirements.
- Assists with creating, updating, and maintaining information repository.
- Coordinates and revises material for publication in written and electronic form (e.g., manuals, standard operating procedures [SOPs], websites, etc.).
- Creates documentation for all projects and processes and updates or adds content to the CID intranet site.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as English, Communications, or a technical discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of related experience in technical writing.
- Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
- Ability to produce quality documentation that meets applicable standards.
- Some web development experience to review content in an online platform and ensure consistency.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize various projects and meet target deadlines.
