About the position

We are seeking an IT Technical Writer to join Mavensoft Technologies, LLC. This role involves creating, updating, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for applications, websites, and IT programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in writing clear and concise documentation tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with current systems and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain documentation for applications, websites, systems, and programs, including user manuals and technical procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to generate and revise documents based on their input or as processes change.
• Review and format technical documentation for clarity and proper style.
• Provide completed documents to OIT or agency customers for final review and approval.
• Create process flows, diagrams, and visuals using Microsoft Office or Google applications.
• Ensure the accuracy and usability of documents by resolving content gaps or issues with contributors.
• Maintain and update document repositories with consistent naming conventions and versioning.
• Translate complex technical materials into user-friendly language without compromising accuracy.
• Work with subject matter experts to gather information for documentation.
• Stay up-to-date with technical writing trends and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of demonstrable experience in technical writing, ideally in an IT environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets).
• Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with API documentation or technical content for web applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies or other development methodologies.
• Prior experience with technical writing in the IT security space.
