About the position

The Technical Writer II position involves supporting laboratory testing to military standards, including MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-1399. The role requires gathering data from subject matter experts to develop and edit technical documentation, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accuracy, and drafting test execution procedures. This position is essential for maintaining high-quality documentation that meets military specifications.

Responsibilities

• Gather data packages and information from subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, organize, edit, and write technical and procedural documentation.
• Draft and/or edit test plans and technical data reports using developed and mature templates.
• Collaborate with E3 lab director, SMEs, and customers to verify data and make documentation changes as necessary.
• Draft test execution procedures with input from SMEs.
• Complete yearly training as directed for general employment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience in technical writing or documentation.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate degree acceptable with additional experience; High School Diploma or GED acceptable with additional experience.
• One (1) year with degree or three (3) years with HS/GED of experience revising or writing standardized material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.
• Proficiency with document drafting tools and technologies including Microsoft Office (to include Visio) and Adobe products.
• Ability to obtain, possess and maintain a SECRET clearance.
• Must be a US citizen.
