About the position

AERMOR LLC is seeking a qualified Technical Writer to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. This full-time position requires a candidate with a strong background in technical writing and a passion for creating clear and concise documentation. The Technical Writer will work directly with customers to develop, draft, revise, and edit a variety of technical documents, including manuals, reports, brochures, and articles. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts in simple, understandable terms. This role is crucial in ensuring that our documentation meets the highest standards of clarity and usability. In this position, the Technical Writer will be responsible for interpreting information obtained through research and collaboration with technical specialists. The candidate will apply their knowledge of documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit, and publish technical materials that are not only informative but also visually appealing, incorporating detailed images such as charts and diagrams where necessary. The Technical Writer will need to be intimately familiar with the product features and functionalities to accurately represent them in the documentation. This is not a remote position, and the successful candidate will be expected to work on-site in Norfolk, VA. The role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, set tasks and timelines, and meet established goals. A strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, drafts, revises, and edits reports, articles, manuals, specifications, presentation materials, and other technical documents, using rough outlines and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English or Technical Writing is required.
  • Four years of recent experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven experience working independently, setting tasks and timelines and meeting those goals.
