About the position

DMI is seeking a Technical Writer to support a federal customer in the DC Metro area. The role involves creating, updating, and maintaining all technical documentation as assigned, developing training material and videos for Azure Enterprise Infrastructure, coordinating and providing training sessions to end users, and maintaining architecture diagram updates as needed. The Technical Writer will assist with writing and organizing all documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare instruction manuals, SOP's and knowledge articles
  • Disseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience
  • Ensure technical accuracy in writing user documentation
  • Create documentation after collaboration with subject matter experts and technical staff
  • Improve existing and potential content
  • Convert complex documentation to easy language for multiple audiences
  • Write documentation for internal teams such as developers and programmers
  • Communicate complex ideas in a concise manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or similar job experience
  • Preferred fields: Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related disciplines
  • 6+ years of proven experience in writing technical documentation
  • ServiceNow Knowledge Management experience or similar experience in other ITSM platforms
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Solid grip on documentation publishing software such as Adobe, SnagIt, and other software
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office O365
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must be able to multitask
