About the position

We are seeking an experienced Small Engine Repair Technician to join our team, focusing on the repair and maintenance of various small engines, particularly air compressors, boat motors, and lawn equipment. The role requires hands-on experience with engine diagnostics and a passion for outdoor machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of small engines, including air compressors, boat motors, dirt bikes, generators, and other power equipment.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug checks to ensure equipment runs efficiently.
  • Sharpen chains, adjust tension, and maintain chainsaws, string trimmers, and weed eaters for optimal performance.
  • Work on lawn mowers, lawn tractors, leaf blowers, chipper/mulchers, outboard engines, quad runners, and power washers.
  • Communicate with customers regarding the status of repairs, estimates, and recommendations for maintenance or parts replacement.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and shop protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper storage and disposal of parts, tools, and fluids.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of experience working with small engines, preferably in a repair or maintenance role.
  • Strong understanding of small engine mechanics, including troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively, read repair manuals, and follow troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ability to explain technical issues and solutions to customers in a clear, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment, bend, stoop, and work in various positions for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications related to small engine repair (e.g., Briggs & Stratton, Honda, or other small engine brands) are a plus but not required.
