About The Position

The Technician, Blending and Maintenance role at Pilot Company involves conducting blending operations and providing equipment maintenance at Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) blending plants. The position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of blending processes, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with team members to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Valid state driver's license and positive driving history required
  • Minimum two years' technical maintenance experience preferred
  • Basic Microsoft office skills preferred
  • Good technical skills and understanding of flow measurement equipment and systems
  • Ability to use hand tools to replace or repair pumps and other heavy equipment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to manage time and work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal support teams to resolve issues

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with diesel exhaust fluid and water processing chemicals

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily DEF blending process and collection and submission of product samples
  • Perform light plant maintenance to prevent equipment failure
  • Collaborate daily with the DEF Rail Movements Specialist to schedule rail car deliveries of DEF concentrate to plant(s)
  • Troubleshoot equipment repairs for technical and mechanical issues
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts
  • Ensure all safety and operational procedures are followed at the blending site(s)
  • Recommend improvements for DEF plant operations and assist in implementing operational changes
  • Travel to other DEF sites to conduct blending operations as needed
  • Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned
