About the position

The Corrosion Technician at Phillips 66 is responsible for providing corrosion control services to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for pipeline and terminal assets. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing corrosion equipment under the guidance of the Corrosion Supervisor, primarily focusing on pipeline facilities. The position is based in Denver, CO, with travel requirements of up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Completing annual cathodic protection surveys.
  • Completing rectifier and bond inspections.
  • Testing and troubleshooting CP systems using various types of CP equipment.
  • Evaluating and providing recommendations to mitigate corrosion control issues.
  • Utilizing PCS software to record, monitor, and evaluate CP data and Internal Coupon Data to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilizing SAP for tracking PMs and WOs.
  • Completing and issuing corrosion compliance reports.
  • Monitoring and evaluating internal corrosion control systems.
  • Coordinating the efforts of operation and maintenance personnel when they are providing corrosion control services.
  • Coordinating the efforts of contractors when they are providing corrosion control services.
  • Coordinating the implementation of corrosion control projects.
  • Providing corrosion control support on integrated project teams.
  • Preparing proposed budgets for corrosion control programs and tracking approved budgets.
  • Participating in regulatory and corporate audits.
  • Supporting IMP data analysis & assessments.
  • Supporting Pipeline Integrity Programs.
  • Participating with teams in the corrosion function regarding best practices & compliance issues.
  • Achieving certification through technical experience, education, examinations, and references.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
  • 2 or more years of experience with current corrosion control methods.
  • NACE CP Level 1 Certification.
  • Willingness and ability to perform and comply with physical demands.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or higher in Corrosion Technology or related field.
  • NACE CP Level II Certification or higher or Equivalent Certification.
  • Proficient in SAP, CPDM, PCS or other Cathodic Protection Data Management systems.
