About the position

The Ohio CAT Technician Development Academy Intern position is designed for individuals looking to enter the heavy equipment industry as mechanics or technicians. This 11-week program combines classroom instruction and hands-on training, providing interns with the necessary skills to service and repair heavy off-road equipment and engines. Interns will gain practical experience and technical knowledge essential for a successful career in this field.

Responsibilities

• Complete service reports accurately.
• Utilize the Service Information System (SIS).
• Understand theories and applications of electrical and electronic systems.
• Interpret basic wiring and hydraulic schematics.
• Learn diesel engine theory and repair.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited technical school with emphasis on diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and work ethic with attention to detail.
• Ability to attend all required training classes and on-the-job training.
