About the position

The Technician Engineering III Electrical role at E-ONE involves designing, developing, and validating electrical systems for specialty vehicles, particularly fire trucks. The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, CAD software proficiency, and experience in manufacturing processes. The technician will work closely with production teams to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and industry standards, while also applying lean principles to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Meet performance requirements and conduct load analysis.
  • Assist in designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing and product specifications.
  • Create and review material part specifications and bills of materials.
  • Use CAD and CAE software to develop structural designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
  • Verify designs through calculations and analytical techniques.
  • Understand manufacturing processes, focusing on metal fabrication and assemblies.
  • Apply DFM methodologies to deliver robust engineering packages.
  • Fulfill customer requirements considering design rules and interface points.
  • Define test requirements and interpret test results to validate designs.
  • Identify problems and root causes, and execute resolutions.
  • Understand and apply lean principles in manufacturing and business processes.
  • Execute engineering changes through established processes and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Four years of experience in electrical engineering on specialty vehicle or truck chassis manufacturing.
  • Experience in computer simulation, cost estimation, design optimization, design review, engineering analysis, feasibility study, mathematical analysis, modeling, prototyping, quality assurance, and reliability analysis.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry and vocational standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD and CAE software.
  • Experience with problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis.
  • Experience with statistical techniques and data analysis.
  • Experience working directly with production employees and leadership.
