About the position

The I & E Technician (High Voltage) at Enterprise Products is responsible for modifying, repairing, and overhauling electronic and electrical equipment and controls. This role involves troubleshooting control systems and complex equipment, maintaining and optimizing control technology, and ensuring the safe installation of instrumentation and electrical components. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Modify, repair, or overhaul electronic and electrical equipment and controls.
  • Participate in installing all instrumentation and electrical components safely.
  • Troubleshoot problems with control systems and complex equipment associated with gas recips, turbines, generators, and process plants.
  • Run conduit, pull wire, change motors, and maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls.
  • Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Maintain advanced monitoring devices such as gas, flame, or fire detectors, and temperature monitors.
  • Read and interpret P&ID and electrical diagrams and other complex electrical drawings.
  • Update electrical drawings and install, troubleshoot, and maintain end devices, alarms, and process controls.
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Provide training and technical support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of electrical and instrumentation experience, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity in using tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand safety procedures, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and familiarity with AC voltage (120-480) and 24 VDC.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Journeyman electrical designation is highly preferred.
  • Graduation from a technical trade school and/or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred.
