About the position

The Technician - I & E - Trainee Offshore Pipelines position at Genesis Energy involves the specification, installation, testing, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment used in crude oil pipeline operations. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and safety of pipeline operations while adhering to regulatory compliance and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Specification, installation, testing, and repair of electrical or electronic equipment used in crude oil pipelines.
  • Perform operational responsibilities including measurements and regulatory equipment inspections.
  • Maintain compliance documentation as required by regulations.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to resolve field problems.
  • Test, calibrate, and maintain LACT/ACT Units and associated equipment.
  • Take crude oil samples and repair sampling equipment.
  • Operate and maintain various types of liquid meters.
  • Ensure reliability of regulators and relief valves.
  • Meet performance training requirements set by local/federal agencies.
  • Complete OQ (Operator Qualifications) training on performed tasks.
  • Participate in and promote the Company's safety program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years applicable experience or technical degree.
  • Experience with high voltage and PLC units, preferably Allen Bradley and GE.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Prior experience with LACT/ACT systems is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LACT/ACT systems.
