About the position

The Technician - Integration Engineering I - B position is a critical role within the engineering team, primarily focused on the setup and operation of various test equipment. This position is based in Huntsville, AL, and is structured as a 6-month assignment. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all test equipment is functioning correctly and will engage in troubleshooting and maintenance tasks as needed. The role requires a proactive approach to daily test activities, including coordination with test engineers and management to ensure that testing processes are efficient and effective. The technician will work primarily on a shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, from 3 PM to 1:30 AM, with potential overtime on Fridays and possibly weekends. This schedule allows for a focused work environment during the evening hours, which is essential for the testing processes that may require uninterrupted time. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area, adhering to site standard practices and management guidance. In addition to operating test equipment, the technician will perform various tests, including Proof Tests and Flow Tests, which are crucial for validating the performance of the equipment being tested. Experience in assembly is also desired, as the technician may assist in tooling up and de-tooling hardware as part of the testing process. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, have a strong technical background, and are capable of working in a dynamic testing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate test equipment including vibration tables, vacuum chambers, pressure devices, water delivery systems, flow meters, transducers, and other test equipment.
  • Perform test troubleshooting and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate with test engineers and engage with management on daily test activities.
  • Clean machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.
  • Perform Proof Test & Flow Tests.
  • Assist in tooling up and de-tooling hardware as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in operating and setting up test equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for test equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance on equipment.
  • Experience in assembly processes is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with engineers and management.
