About the position

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Calibration Technician II to join our team in Kent, WA. This is a contract position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the precision and reliability of measurement and test equipment used in the construction of space vehicles and rocket engines. The successful candidate will be responsible for calibrating and maintaining the accuracy of various measurement and test equipment in a metrology lab environment. This position requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, as the technician will oversee the calibration process and ensure that all equipment is cycled on schedule. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining an accurate inventory of calibrated items and their calibration status. You will also be responsible for coordinating with third-party calibration vendors and managing the logistics of calibration services. Additionally, you will assist the manufacturing team with device recalls and notifications, ensuring that all equipment meets the necessary standards for safety and performance. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in calibration, with at least three years of experience in the field. A high school diploma along with calibration-related technical training is required. Familiarity with the operation of measurement and test equipment is essential, as is the ability to utilize computer systems to maintain, organize, and track technical information. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (current Green Card holders).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the measurement & test equipment used to build space vehicles and rocket engines are calibrated and cycled on schedule.
  • Perform calibration of measurement & test equipment in a metrology lab environment.
  • Maintain accuracy of calibrated item inventory & calibration status.
  • Utilize 3rd party calibration vendors and oversee the logistics of calibration services.
  • Assist manufacturing team with device recall & notification.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in Calibration
  • HS Diploma + calibration related technical training
  • Familiarity with the operation of measurement and test equipment
  • Comfortable utilizing a computer to maintain, organize & track technical information
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)

Nice-to-haves

  • Calibration of AMS2750 compliant ovens and furnaces
  • Calibration of Accelerometers
  • Calibration of data acquisition and equipment
  • Military PMEL or Post-Secondary metrology training
  • Experience with industry calibration standards (ANSI NCSL Z540.3, ISO/IEC 17025)
  • Experience with industry quality and configuration control system methodologies (AS9100, ISO:9001)
  • Experience developing, operating and maintaining calibration systems & procedures
  • Experience in customer service
