About the position

This role is part of Client Operations, which encompasses Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, providing Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Client facilities. As a member of a dedicated team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will play a crucial role in integrating, testing, and documenting the assembly of a custom machine tool and its related subsystems. Your contributions will significantly impact all aspects of additively manufactured spaceflight and supporting hardware, continuous improvement, automation, and process development in this innovative industry. This position is hands-on and multifaceted, requiring flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong eagerness to learn as core components of your professional career. Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, assemble, and test custom machine hardware according to written procedures, engineering models, work orders, drawings, and specifications
  • Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other large/complex assembly manufacturing environment
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, test procedures and P&IDs
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around critical hardware
  • Experience using common assembly and integration tools
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
  • Ability to work at heights on work stands and in lifts
  • Ability to perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 40lbs
  • Experience with verbal and written communication of technical data, results, and associated tools (confluence, MS-Office suite)

  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field
  • Experience in handling large/expensive components

  • Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures

  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
