This position is located at Pillar Point Air Force Station near Half Moon Bay, California. This position is not eligible for a telecommuting schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of radar systems and associated subsystems and consoles, including pedestal, high power transmitter, signal generators, and heat exchangers.
  • Assist in the performance of all maintenance, equipment/system status reporting, configuration control and logistics duties in accordance with the Integrated Organizational and Depot Maintenance Plan (IODMP) and related LISC Operating Instructions (LOI).
  • Assist in performing calibration of high power transmitter for correct frequencies, pulse widths, shapes and power levels.
  • Assist in executing all critical launch documentation including Operations Directives (OD's), Range Safety Operational Requirements (RSOR), Integrated Countdown Document (ICD) and Data Distribution Listing (DDL).
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of electronic hardware to component level, and perform repairs in accordance with technical orders, maintenance manuals and schematics.
  • Attain proficiency at operating oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, and specialty RF test equipment in support of maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Perform daily operations and launch support activities according to standardized checklists and work instructions.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures pertaining to job site safety and security.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Zero to two years technician experience and/or knowledge of basic electricity principles are highly desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
  • Experience operating and maintaining communications equipment.
