As a Technician, you will play a key role in creating safe and efficient work zones, working outdoors, and making a real impact on the community. In this role, you will support the crew by assisting team leads with various tasks to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include unloading and setting up materials like cones, signs, and posts, measuring and marking construction areas, preparing and maintaining tools and materials, digging post holes, erecting signs, and cleaning up debris to keep the site organized and safe. You will also be responsible for safely directing traffic around work zones and ensuring that everything is stored properly at the end of the day. As a Lead Technician, you will oversee a team of skilled technicians, guiding them through projects that make a real difference in our communities. You will perform all the duties of a Technician while managing company vehicles and equipment, inspecting traffic control devices for defects, and improving customer service and satisfaction through effective leadership and communication. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to solve problems quickly, and excellent communication abilities to ensure that your team, customers, and the public are well-informed and safe.
Responsibilities
- Assist team leads with various tasks to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
- Unload and set up materials like cones, signs, and posts to prepare work zones.
- Measure and mark construction areas, ensuring everything is perfectly aligned.
- Prepare and maintain tools and materials for installation, ensuring everything is in top shape.
- Dig post holes, erect signs, and clean up debris to keep the site organized and safe.
- Safely direct traffic around work zones, keeping everyone safe and moving.
- Clean up the site at the end of the day, ensuring everything is stored properly and the area is left spotless.
- Oversee the work of technicians, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Manage company vehicles and equipment, keeping everything in top condition and ready for the next project.
- Inspect traffic control devices for defects, ensuring everything is in perfect working order.
Requirements
- Valid state driver's license and acceptable MVR.
- Understanding of traffic control procedures and a commitment to following safety protocols.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting, carrying, and working on uneven terrain in various weather conditions.
- Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
Nice-to-haves
