About the position
The Technician Manufacturing I position at E-ONE involves performing basic functions for the assembly of custom fire and rescue vehicles. The role requires the use of power and hand tools to install plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components, ensuring that manufacturing, quality, and safety standards are met. The technician will work from various technical documents and participate in continuous improvement activities, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of the production process.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic functions for custom fire and rescue vehicles utilizing power and hand tools.
- Install plumbing components on fire apparatus.
- Assemble and install basic electrical components.
- Assemble and install basic mechanical and hydraulic components on vehicles or aerial devices.
- Ensure manufacturing, quality, and safety requirements are met.
- Work from schedules, manuals, wiring diagrams, shop orders, prints, pick lists, BOM's, and instructions.
- Identify and understand basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components used in assembly.
- Retrieve parts, materials, and supplies from staging location.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic skills in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical assembly.
- Math and blueprint reading skills.
- Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds frequently and 20 pounds constantly.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety protocols in manufacturing environments.
