About the position

The Mechanical Technician at Cheniere Energy plays a crucial role in maintaining the liquefied natural gas (LNG) import and regasification terminal. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is essential for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the terminal. The technician will be part of a multi-disciplined crew and is expected to work in a rotational environment, including holidays, weekends, and nights, while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory mandates.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance duties of the LNG terminal in a rotational environment.
• Maintain all pumps, compressors, gas turbines, motors, vessels, utilities, piping, tanks, and unloading arms.
• Train annually on environmental safety, operations, and security procedures.
• Record maintenance data and inform the Maintenance Supervisor of potential problems and failures.
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to resolve problems and improve plant reliability and safety.
• Apply safety protocols and adhere to regulatory mandates.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal education in related technical or engineering disciplines or related military training/experience is desirable.
• Must be qualified in at least one of the following: Millwright Mechanical Experience.
• 2 years relevant work experience required.

• Basic knowledge of safe handling practices, governmental regulations, and related technical and safety codes.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Computer savvy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
