About the position

The Technician position focuses on operating the micro laser repair cell, a new technology developed to manage and repair previously non-weldable products. This role involves setting up and entering process variables for repairing Nickel Alloy groups, performing laser repairs, and conducting evaluations to ensure successful repairs. The Technician will work closely with engineering to define and qualify the repair process.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the micro laser repair cell for product repairs.
  • Set up and enter process variables into the robot according to established procedures.
  • Perform laser repair production on various Nickel Alloy groups.
  • Use grinding tools for prep, grinding, or blending the repair area as needed.
  • Conduct local FPI evaluations of the repair area to verify successful repairs.
  • Assist in defining and qualifying the repair process in collaboration with engineering.
  • Gather, record, analyze, and summarize data; prepare reports or memos as necessary.
  • Provide overall assistance to senior technicians and engineers.

Requirements

  • 2 1/2-3 years of relevant experience or an A.S or A.A. with 1-2 years of relevant technical experience, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of scientific principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish procedures to complete tasks after they are outlined.
  • Ability to coordinate work with others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hazardous waste management training.
