About the position

The Pipeline Technician is responsible for maintaining and operating refined product pipelines, LPG pipelines, pump stations, and associated equipment. This role involves performing mechanical functions such as inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The technician will also engage in routine maintenance, assist with equipment replacements, and maintain control technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate refined product pipelines and associated equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on centrifugal pumps and electric motors.
• Assist with the replacement of pumps, motors, and valves as needed.
• Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain alarms and shutdown systems.
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic equipment.
• Complete records of time and required regulatory reports.
• Respond to operational emergencies as part of an emergency response team.
• Launch and receive cleaning pigs and assist with smart pig operations.
• Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; VoTech certificate or Associates degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years stable work history, preferably in the energy industry.
• 2-4 years previous experience with the operation and maintenance of a refined pipeline facility preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Knowledge of Compressors, pumps, regulators, MOV's, electronic controls, and medium electrical voltage is desired.
• Ability to read and understand safety procedures, work procedures, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience and knowledge of industry-related maintenance and repair standards preferred.
• Knowledge of the general design and operation of a refined products pipeline.
