About the position

Walmart is hiring Technicians for Refrigeration and HVAC roles, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring the proper functioning of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. As an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC/R equipment. You will also perform both major and minor preventive maintenance to uphold quality standards. This role requires you to inspect installations and modifications of HVAC/R systems to ensure they meet the necessary specifications and safety standards. In addition to technical skills, you will be responsible for managing available resources for HVAC/R maintenance and repair. This includes overseeing refrigerant levels and parts inventory, tracking and ordering HVAC/R parts, and developing strong relationships with suppliers and contractors. Your ability to communicate effectively and transparently with customers will be crucial, as will your commitment to personal accountability and effective time management to meet your commitments. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC/R equipment.
  • Perform major and minor preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems.
  • Inspect installations and modifications of HVAC/R systems to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage refrigerant levels and parts inventory for HVAC/R maintenance and repair.
  • Track and order HVAC/R parts as needed.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure resource availability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in commercial HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance.
  • Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
  • Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
